The OGA was formed in 1902 as an association of the old boys of
Battersea Grammar School. When BGS amalgamated with Rosa Bassett
Grammar School, formerly Streatham Secondary School for Girls, in
1977 to form Furzedown Secondary School, the members of the Association
agreed to open membership to former pupils and staff of all three
schools. The procedure was repeated when Ensham School was incorporated
into the new Graveney Secondary School in 1986.
Over the years, the objects of the Association have changed. Currently
they are as follows :-
a) To promote social activities among its members.
b) To inform the membership with news of its members and of the
activities of the affiliated Clubs and Societies.
c) To arrange, at intervals determined by the Executive Committee,
a Reunion Dinner.
d) To receive contributions, edit and produce an annual magazine
(Old Grammarian).
Former pupils of the above schools wishing to join the Association
should contact the OGA Hon. Sec. & Membership Sec..
